Welcome to Hawaiian Keto Girl, where I feature local keto eateries here on Oahu and transform local Hawaii recipes into keto friendly options. My recipes are always sugar free, low carb, onolicious, and simple enough for the everyday cook. Though today’s recipe isn’t locally originated, there have been a manifold of dipped berry businesses to flood the scene in recent years. Dipped berries are a timeless and perfect treat for special occasions. Which is why I decided to make my own dipped strawberries to celebrate valentine’s day as it was nearly impossible to find someone who had sugar free options.
SIMPLE KETO IS BEST
This recipe is as simple as it gets. I used Choc Zero (keto friendly) white chocolate and Choc Zero milk chocolate for this recipe. I simply microwaved the chocolate for two, 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval until it was soft enough to stir easily. Then, I dipped the strawberries into the chocolate and allowed them to dry completely. My tip for this recipe is to make sure the strawberries are washed and completely dried prior to dipping them in the chocolate. I like to think that this step allows the chocolate to adhere successfully to the strawberries.
KETO FRIENDLY CHOCOLATE
Not all sugar free chocolate is keto friendly and low carb, so I stand behind Choc Zero 1,000%. There are other brands of sugar free chocolate that you can find in the grocery store, but it includes maltodextrin in it’s ingredients which can break ketosis and is best to be avoided. You can order the chocolate from Choc Zero’s website, but it is also available on Amazon:

A True DIY-er
Creating this gift for my husband was so fun. While the dipped strawberries dried, I worked on creating a box for them. I found all the supplies at my local Walmart, which included: a card box (it was valentine’s day so these were easy to find), nude shredded paper, and nude ribbon. It turned out great!
